We all want to indulge in desserts with unique flavours, textures, and ingredients, but at the end of the day, nothing beats our tried-and-true favourites.
Sweet treats like cheesecake, chocolate chip cookies, muffins, ice cream, and brownies will never be off the menu in our house (and shouldn’t be in yours, either)!
But, why not elevate these classics to top chef status to give them an extra little kick?
We’re here to let you in on the secret ingredient, so you can do just that!
Each delicious pairing below adds no extra prep time, has no confusing directions, and offers zero opportunity for error–simply add Two Brothers Toffee to your classic dessert recipes, and do a happy dance!
We’ve been experimenting and taste testing, and we promise we have it perfectly figured out.
These master pairings will turn your ordinary desserts into the extraordinary in seconds!
So without further ado, here's how to incorporate this one-of-a-kind toffee into your next treat:
1. Cheesecake–Fireball Toffee
Crush and sprinkle Fireball Toffee on top of a traditional cheesecake after baking & cooling for an unimaginably yummy taste.
You can also melt and drizzle caramel chocolate on the top if you’re hankering for something extra sweet.
This is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser, so make sure to cut your piece first before they’re all gone!
2. Chocolate Chip Cookies–Dark Toffee
Whichever type of chocolate chip you prefer—milk, semi-sweet, or dark—Two Brothers’ Dark Toffee makes the perfect addition to this type of cookie!
Crush a few pieces of toffee in a bowl and roll bits into each cookie before baking.
The toffee will melt while baking, harden when cooled, and the taste will be spread throughout the entire cookie.
Plan on eating more than one because you’ll be immediately addicted!
3. Brownies–Whitecran Toffee
Crush a few pieces of Whitecran Toffee in a bowl, and sprinkle bits onto the top of your brownie batch before baking.
The toffee will melt into the top crust while baking, harden when cooled, and the taste and texture will be woven into every ooey gooey bite.
The chewy cranberries and rich white chocolate is what your brownies have been missing all these years!
4. Ice Cream–Espresso Toffee
We’ve tried all of our toffee with ice cream and Espresso is by far our favourite (although they’re all superb).
Crush a few pieces of Espresso Toffee and sprinkle onto any classic ice cream flavour–vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, or any other flavour of your choice.
If you have an extra minute, throw it in the blender for a smooth, perfectly mixed treat, reminiscent of that summertime Blizzard we all know and love.
5. Pecan Pie–Whitegold Toffee
This homerun pairing is one of our best! You can bake Whitegold Toffee bits into the center of the pie, or simply sprinkle them on top as soon as you take it out of the oven.
We personally prefer the toffee cooked right into the pie because it creates a unique taste and texture that compliments the pecan filling perfectly.
We suggest keeping this secret ingredient private, otherwise your friends will be raiding your pantry in no time!
6. Nanaimo Bars–Milk Toffee
We know we’re pushing the limits by altering this Canadian classic, but trust us, our toffee is the perfect twist on traditional and our Milk Toffee is a sublime addition to this near-flawless Vancouver Island staple.
Simply add crushed bits of toffee to the custard layer of the bars to give it some crunch and a little nutty sweetness.
Don’t worry, you can thank us later!
7. Basic Muffins–Chai Toffee
We all love a classic muffin, and now you can add the perfect spice to it!
Whether it’s an on-the-go morning breakfast muffin or an afternoon treat with coffee, a few bits of Chai Toffee will add a burst of flavour to your favourite muffin recipe.
Simply crush a few pieces of toffee and add the bits right into the mix before baking.
Just enough sweet to start the day, and just enough spice to give you that kick to keep you going!
8. Chocolate Cake–Cherry Toffee
I’m sure you thought a rich chocolate cake didn’t need anything more ... until now!
This is a must-try! Take your traditional chocolate cake recipe (if it’s a cake in a box, we won’t judge) and mix some crushed Cherry Toffee bits into the frosting.
Our rich toffee combined with the tart dried cherries brings sweet and sassy together in perfect harmony!
Happy baking and creating!
